We can all share a collective sigh of confusion, stress, emotions, and frustration from the past month. We can fight to find the good, look at the positive, and enjoy the unexpected blessings of this quarantine time in COVID-19, but it has been a difficult March. This quarantine is hard on a lot of families and members of our community.

First off, at KALEO Real Estate Company, we would like to thank the health workers, first responders, and everyone working to slow the spread of COVID-19. It is hard work and it does not go unnoticed. We are all affected by coronavirus, but those working in hospitals and face-to-face with the sick are affected the most.

Since the Governor’s “Stay at Home” mandate, our company has been working remotely to further prevent the spread of coronavirus.

We have heard stories of friends, family, and past clients who have…
– Reduced hours
– Lost a job
– Indefinite furlough
– Increased hours
– Increased overtime hours
– Kids at home with distance learning
– Switched to working from home

In the past couple weeks, who has…
– Learned how to use Zoom or Google Meet for work?
– Done client meetings over the phone rather than in person?
– Walked by empty grocery store shelves with no bread or toilet paper?
– Not visited an elderly family member to protect them from germs?
– Decided against shopping in person and ordered online?
– Enjoyed the stillness of a day without events or social gatherings?

Over the weekend, on Saturday March 28, the REALTOR community received an important update:

“The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) updated its list of essential services during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis and expressly included residential real estate.” (C.A.R.)

What does this mean? It means our real estate agents am still working with clients and on deals, but in an adjusted, full-of-precautions way! You will not see our REALTORs working open houses until the Governor gives us the green light and the crisis is over, but our real estate agents are available for a Zoom video meeting, phone call, email, text, or message conversation.

Take care, stay home, and stay healthy!
